Rare public outrage erupted in China today following the death of doctor Lee Wenliang from the Corona virus yesterday. The doctor's colleagues, ordinary citizens and even government organizations expressed anger and sorrow over the doctor's death, which was one of the first to identify the outbreak of the deadly virus and was silenced by authorities.
"The hero who unveiled information about the plague in Wuhan is already in its early stages, Dr. Li Wenliang is now immortal," said a statement from the Center for Infectious Disease Protection, a government body on the social network and Weibo.
Hundreds of thousands of outraged civilians also wrote on the country's social networks, some openly criticizing the country's decision by the Communist Party to silence the case and even deny Wolliang's death. Many shared the correspondence slogan with the propaganda of Xi Jinping's regime: "My Chinese Dream is Broken."
In Hong Kong, hundreds of people gathered for a special rally in memory of the doctor. While autonomy was severely compromised by the closure of border crossings and canceled hundreds of flights to its territory, its residents remained critical of the Beijing regime.

Wonliang's co-worker, an emergency room nurse, actually chose a more poetic way to express sadness and protest: "Wuhan's cold winter is as bleak as my mood. For you, we were angels, we were strong. But how much can our hearts be when the angels around us fall?"
Kai Lin, a Beijing resident, told Reuters that: "Wallenyang has shown a responsible attitude towards the company. He was honest and loyal. I think our entire company needs to reflect on what happened to him." Lin implicitly refers to Wenliang's arrest by authorities.
Walling, along with eight other doctors, was arrested after being alerted to an outbreak of SARS virus at the hospital where he worked in Wuhan City. Investigators threatened Wolliang that if he did not stop reporting the new virus, he would face a judge for sowing panic and incitement.
