2/9/2020, 6:55:18 PM

A man riding a scooter made a fatal fall this Sunday afternoon in Drancy. The accident could be linked to strong gusts

The causes of the accident have not yet been clearly determined. But it is not excluded that a gust of wind is at the origin of the death of a man, this Sunday afternoon in Drancy.

The forty-something was riding a scooter. He died after being hit in the head at around 4 p.m. The hypothesis of a fall caused by a sudden gust, or of the fall of an object, is considered.

Strong gusts

The passage of the Ciara storm must result in gusts of 90 to 100 km / hours from 10 pm this Sunday evening, in Ile-de-France and in particular in Seine-Saint-Denis, the prefecture of Bobigny therefore invites to prudence. She said that she had asked for the parks to be closed, and for the reinforcement of the ponds provided by charitable organizations, to meet the homeless.

State services have also identified gymnasiums that can serve as shelters overnight, if the emergency requires it.

Limit travel

Finally, the prefecture recalls some recommendations. They seem to be common sense, but it is useful to have them in mind. Residents are invited to limit their movements outside, take shelter in a permanent building, close their shutters, fix objects likely to fall, avoid wooded areas or at the edge of bodies of water, and do not work on roofs or on electrical wires that have fallen to the ground.

The wind has already caused multiple disorders in Ile-de-France this Sunday afternoon. Around 7 p.m., the Paris firefighters recorded almost 180 interventions in Paris, in Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis.
