US warship "Normandy" captures a small merchant ship and aboard more than 150 Tehran-made missiles

A US Navy warship intercepted and seized a ship Thursday evening carrying a large number of missiles designed and manufactured in Iran during a special operation in the Arabian Sea.

His country's army, Thebes, said that the US Navy ship "Normandy" seized a small merchant ship in the Arabian Sea and its fighters boarded the vessel, where they did not encounter resistance.

"Among the weapons seized on board were 150 anti-tank missiles of the" Dalhviya "type, an Iranian imitation of the Russian cornet missile and several other Tehran anti-aircraft missiles," the US Navy statement said.

"Other weapons components seized aboard include thermal weapons intentions and components for Iranian tiny unmanned aerial vehicles," a statement from the U.S. military said.

This is not the first time the US Sea has captured Iran-made weapons and equipment in the Arabian Sea, weapons that are likely to be handed over to the Houthi rebels in Yemen, Tehran's allies in its Saudi-Arab war and the United Arab Emirates.

In December, a U.S. Navy corner of war seized an Iranian ship aboard a "large pool" of Iranian-guided missile pieces intended for the Houthi insurgents in Yemen.

The US Navy then claimed that this was the first time such a shipment of advanced missiles had been caught on its way to Yemen, subject to a brutal civil war for several years. The weapon is reportedly in a small ship after a U.S. Navy raid and Coast Guard raid aboard the Arabian Sea.
