(ANSA) - CAIRO, FEBRUARY 19 - A WHO regional manager has underlined the "enormous progress" made in the fight against coronavirus since its appearance in China in December but warned that it is "still too early" to let the guard down. "We have made enormous progress in a short time," said Richard Brennan, Director of Emergency Measures in the Eastern Mediterranean at a press conference in Cairo. However "it is still too early to say that virussia has been curbed," warned Brennan. "Now we get to diagnose the virus everywhere" and "effective health systems have been activated," added Ahmed al-Mandhari, regional director for the Eastern Mediterranean of the World Health Organization.
