Protests renewed in some Lebanese regions today to demand improvement of living conditions and accountability for the corrupt.

The Lebanese National Media Agency said that a group of people carried out a protest today in front of the headquarters of the Swiss embassy in Beirut, calling for opening the files of money smugglers, from politicians and merchants to Swiss banks, and working to recover them.

A number of protesters also gathered in front of the Ministry of Economy in Beirut to demand activation of control and consumer protection in light of the high prices, while protesters also carried out a sit-in in front of the central port and the Ogero center in Tripoli, northern Lebanon, in protest against the cutting of phone lines and the deterioration of economic and living conditions.

Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed demonstrations and protest actions calling for improving the living conditions, fighting corruption and holding the corrupt accountable.
