The shares are at March 2019 highs

Pescanova shares have skyrocketed 49.5% this Friday, up to 55 cents per title, March 2019 levels. The momentum on the stock market has come after Abanca has offered Banco Sabadell, CaixaBank and Bank of America buy their shares in Nueva Pescanova and thus control 93% of the capital of this company, as published by CincoDías . The operation would amount to about 200 million euros.

Nueva Pescanova held its board of directors on Friday, which could be key if the entities decide to sell their shares to the bank chaired by Juan Carlos Escotet, who has now controlled 39.29% of the firm. CaixaBank has 15.3%, Banco Sabadell, 24.5%, and Bank of America, 9% in addition to the small 4% stake held by the Brookfield fund.

However, this is not the first time that Abanca has made an offer to the company's shareholders. On previous occasions, however, the partners considered the proposal to be very low. Although now the bank would have improved it, it still does not meet the claims of the shareholders, financial sources explained to this newspaper. In fact, what is expected is that the entity's offer be rejected again.
