Haute-Vienne: a couple imprisoned after the death of their infant victim of violence

A young couple was indicted and imprisoned in Limoges on Saturday for the alleged murder of their three-month-old baby, discovered victim of fractures and bruises in the skull, and probable previous violence, we learned from the prosecution . The gendarmes, warned by the mother Thursday morning, noted the death of the infant at the parents' home, an HLM apartment in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche (Haute-Vienne), said the prosecution. The parents were then placed in police custody.

The autopsy revealed two fractures of the skull, intracranial hematomas, and traces "other acts of violence" , before the fatal fractures which would have occurred in the night from Wednesday to Thursday.

The 27-year-old father and 21-year-old mother, without profession, do not recognize the facts, on the basis of "confused" statements . The couple seem to evolve in a context of desocialization, drug addiction, but kept a well-kept apartment, with the presence of toys.

They have been indicted for murder and usual violence against minors under the age of 15. Having asked for a delay to defend themselves, they were provisionally detained pending a hearing on Tuesday on their detention.
