The Norberto storm continues its progression on the French territory. Météo France has placed two departments on orange alert for flood flooding: Pas-de-Calais and Vendée.

The meteorological institute thus foresees an "important flood of the upstream Lys", a river from the North of France and "du Lay", the main coastal river of Vendée. The Norberto storm is going towards the east of France, with "strong winds" and "abundant precipitations", still specifies Météo France.
The meteorological service thus recommends "not to go under any circumstances, on foot or by car on a submerged track" and "to secure the goods likely to be damaged".
A high intensity storm
Earlier in the morning, the institute was depicting a short, but intense winter storm in a rainy environment with saturated soils. The storm was to circulate from the west of the Channel to Normandy, causing gusts of wind and heavy rain.
Météo France had also placed two departments, Côtes-d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine, on alert orange strong winds. The alert has since been lifted.
Earlier in the day, gusts had reached values of 100 to 110 km / h inland and up to 120 to 130 km / h on the coast.
