(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 05 - Harvey Weinstein has undergone heart surgery and is now awaiting transfer to Rikers Island, the New York maxi-prison awaiting sentence. The New York Post reports it. The former producer, found guilty of harassment and rape, had been rushed to BellevueHospital immediately after the jury's verdict.
Weinstein allegedly underwent a four-hour stent surgery last night, a source told The New York Post. Weinstein is 67 years old. "Now that it is stabilized, it can be transferred to Rikers' infirmary," said the source. The ex producer is hospitalized in a private room in Bellevue from February 24, the day of the greenhouse, after suffering from palpitations and high blood pressure. ARikers will be housed in a cell under 24-hour surveillance on 24 (ANSA).
