All Italy quarantined by the coronavirus, announces the prime minister of Italy

The Italian prime minister said the measure was taken to protect the population, especially the most fragile people.

(CNN Spanish) - All of Italy is already in quarantine, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced at a press conference on Monday.

"All measures in the red zones now extend to the entire national territory," Conte said.

Conte said the measure was taken to protect the population, especially the most fragile people. He also announced the ban on holding public events.
