As part of the measures taken to tackle the new Corona virus, the Sweida Tourism Directorate tightened its monitoring tours to ensure compliance with the decision to close feeding facilities and cafes classified as tourist in the governorate.

The director of tourism, Arab Al-Arbeed, told SANA that the joint monitoring committees in the directorate tightened their monitoring tours to ensure compliance with the decision to close food facilities, cafes, cafeterias and licensed lounges, and to prevent the provision of services at tables and only limit them to meeting external requests and by phone to prevent gatherings in restaurants, calling on all owners of the facilities to cooperate Where the facility will be closed and financial penalties imposed on violators.

The head of the Joint Oversight Committee for Tourist Establishments in Suwaida, Nabil Makarem, also confirmed the existence of a continuous follow-up by the Committee and the Judicial Control of Establishments to emphasize adherence to the decision, noting that tourism establishments on the governorate square are fully committed to all decisions.

Amer Nasr and Murhaf Al-Khatib, “two restaurant owners” in the city of As-Suwayda, pointed out the importance of implementing all decisions related to tackling the virus to maintain public safety, as they closed their facilities and stopped serving tables inside them, while limiting them to phone requests and continuing sterilization and hygiene operations.
