Coronavirus: all green spaces prohibited in the Bas-Rhin

The Bas-Rhin prefecture prohibited access to parks, forests and water bodies on Friday and until April 15, in the face of non-compliance with the containment measures previously put in place to try to curb the coronavirus epidemic , she said in a statement. "Faced with non-compliance with confinement measures by part of the population ", the Bas-Rhin prefect Josiane Chevalier decided to prohibit "access to all parks, public gardens, gravel pits, forests, plans water, banks, playgrounds, fitness trail and urban sports grounds " in all of the municipalities of Bas-Rhin, said this release. "Any pedestrian, cyclist and motorized presence is prohibited," he said.

Although less affected than its neighbor the Haut-Rhin, the Bas-Rhin has 285 people currently hospitalized because of the coronavirus, including 120 in intensive care in serious condition, according to the prefecture. Across the Grand Est region, 1,551 people are currently hospitalized and 105 have died, according to the Regional Health Agency.
