German government spokesman Stephen Seibert announced today that Chancellor Angela Merkel decided to isolate herself at her home after treating her by a doctor who later discovered that he was infected with the emerging coronavirus.
"She has decided to isolate herself in her home," she will be quoted as saying in a statement. "She will be subjected to frequent checks in the coming days and will do her office work from home."
The German Robert Koch Research Institute announced yesterday that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany rose by 2705 cases in one day, bringing the total number to 16,662 cases.
