For Wuhan's subway, reopening is approaching, the latest sign of a city that wants to return to normal and leave Covid-19 behind. Hundreds of health workers, protected by full face masks, gloves and white tyvek coveralls, have started the disinfection of the entire network today, reported the People's Daily, which did not indicate a date for the restart service.
The images filmed and posted on social media in Mandarin have become viral, interpreted as proof of the turning point now at hand, after an initial loosening of the quarantine decided last week for both the province of Hubei and its capital Wuhan.
Moreover, China has recorded zero new internal cases of coronavirus, but another 39 imported cases, according to updates released by the National Health Commission (NHC) and relating to Sunday. The nine deaths were all concentrated in Wuhan: however, two months after the quarantine of 60 million people, Hubei and its capital have not reported new infections for five days in a row.
Beijing has seen total infections rise to 81,093, of which 5,120 are still under treatment, 3,270 deaths and 72,703 discharged from hospitals, equal to a cure rate soared to 89.6%.
