RATP: 30% of metros will run tomorrow

3/23/2020, 6:21:45 PM

One train in two will run on line 1 and four out of 10 trains will run on line 14, the two automatic lines of the Paris network. The night bus service works for hospital staff.

The public transport operated by the RATP in Paris and its suburbs will be reduced again on Tuesday due to the confinement of the population, the public company said on Monday. The RATP provides 30% of metros on average except on the two automatic lines (50% on the 1 and 40% on the 14) and one tramway in two.

For the RER, it must run 30% of the trains on line A and 50% on the B, interconnections being ensured with the parts operated by SNCF. As for buses, they will run at 40% on average.

The Noctilien night bus service will still operate normally because it is used by hospital staff, said RATP, which also put into service Monday free shuttles reserved for caregivers to serve major hospitals in the Paris region.

On the SNCF side, the first departures of night buses to the suburbs have also been advanced to replace the trains that stop earlier. Attendance at the RATP network has stabilized at "less than 10% compared to a normal day" due to the confinement of the population, a spokesman for AFP said.
