The prefect of Reunion decided Thursday to close shops and shopping centers at 19h from Friday, facing the relaxation of the population vis-à-vis the containment, he said in a statement.

" Despite the containment measures applicable in Reunion since March 16, groups of people consuming alcohol around stores and shopping centers and a roundabout use of derogatory travel authorizations have been noted ", deplored Jacques Billant . From Friday and " until April 15, stores and shopping centers will be closed from 19h, every day, " he said, adding that " this ban also concerns take-out shops and of itinerant sales held by companies or individuals (food trucks, pizza truck ...) ".

" Failure to comply with the closure is punishable by a fine of 135 euros, " he added. Reunion is the overseas territory with the highest number of cases, with 376 cases, including 3 in intensive care.
