SANSEPOLCRO (AREZZO) - In order to enhance and protect the product also abroad from the phenomenon of 'agro-piracy', the Consortium for the Protection of Finocchiona Igp has registered its figurative mark in New Zealand, so that no one can use or imitate the his image. The registration process, explains a note, was long and complex, lasting almost two years. This is another important step for the Finocchiona PGI Protection Consortium, which is pursuing similar practices in other countries as well. "This is the first registration in a foreign country and represents an important step both for the protection of the product and for the exports of the member companies", says Alessandro Iacomoni, president of the Consortium. "We currently allocate 30% of our production abroad and we are also seeing growth in non-EU countries. Following this registration, we hope to see significant growth soon in New Zealand".
