The Minister of the Interior spoke on Wednesday about the scuffles that have taken place in several neighborhoods since the accident of a man on a scooter in which the police of Villeneuve-la-Garenne is involved.
During the night of April 21 to 22, fires of garbage cans and vehicles were identified in several communes of Hauts-de-Seine (Gennevilliers, Nanterre and Villeneuve-la-Garenne), and Seine-Saint-Denis (Aulnay-sous -Bois and Montreuil).
During his intervention before the Senators, Christophe Castaner denounced the "ambushes" organized against the police which have given rise to "28 arrests since last weekend".
In a video filmed at the hospital, the victim of the scooter accident with the police, called those involved in the scuffles to "calm down" hoping "that justice will pass".
