Spared by the pandemic, Taiwan continues to live almost normally when almost half the world's population is confined.

"It's crazy to say that, but it's reality, we can do what we want!" In a university exchange in Taiwan since the end of February Raphaëlle, 20, is aware of her luck. Unlike her relatives confined to France, the young communication student enjoys an almost normal life.

Open restaurants, crowded streets, accessible temples ... "There are people everywhere" still amazes the young Frenchwoman. The country did not choose containment but quickly took sanitary measures to contain the epidemic. The wearing of the mask was imposed in the metro under “penalty of fine of 5000 Taiwan dollars, about 156 euros” tells us the student.

The island is today presented as a model to follow in managing the global health crisis.
