Target of projectile jets launched by hooded young people in his town, Thierry Lafon tells the Parisian the underside of his altercatio

Targeted by a dozen white pebbles and glass bottles in his town, Thierry Lafon (Divers droite) keeps his cool. The mayor of Lisses (Essonne) films his attackers while avoiding the projectiles that rain on him. His video, relayed on social networks, aroused the indignation of political figures of all stripes like Valérie Pécresse (LR president of the Île-de-France region) and Stanislas Guérini (general delegate of La République en Marche), who supported the attacked city councilor.

Alerted by the start of a trash fire after leaving a meeting, Thierry Lafon went there before stumbling upon a group of young masked men, hostile to his presence. For him, no doubt, it is actually an ambush targeting the police. "They had prepared their stocks [...] and they are waiting for them," he said. "It is the first time that an ambush of this nature takes place in Lisses".

The elected official filmed the scene to "gather evidence" and allow the police "to identify the perpetrators of this urban violence". The day after the attack, Thierry Lafon filed a complaint for "degradations on the public highway" and "assault".

Believing that he had not been endangered by his assailants, he conceded that his action entailed some risks: "I took off my mayor's badge, […] because if they had recognized it on the car, I think that I would have been the first to suffer the consequences ”.
