Dozens of people were killed and injured in a suicide attack during a funeral ceremony in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday morning, a spokesman for the local government said.

"At around 11:00 am, a suicide bomber detonated his explosives during a funeral ceremony , " said Attaullah Khogyani, spokesperson for the governor of Nangarhar province, adding that "40 people were killed and injured in the attack according to initial information ”.
