The Ministry of Health announced today the registration of a new infection with the Corona virus for a person coming from the United Arab Emirates, raising the number of infections recorded in Syria to 51 cases.
The ministry said in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that the total number of registered cases of the Corona virus in Syria to date is 51 cases, 36 of them recovered and 3 cases died.
It is noteworthy that the first infection with the virus was recorded in Syria on the twenty-second of last March for a person coming from outside the country, while the first death was recorded on the twenty-ninth of the same month.
The Deputy Director of Communicable and Chronic Diseases at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Atef Al-Tawil, indicated in a statement to SANA today that the last six new cases of Corona virus that were registered in Syria were among people coming from abroad, while no local infection was recorded since the beginning of this month.
