Celtic won their 51st national title after the Scottish Football Association decided not to end the season due to the coronavirus emergency.
The formalization of the ninth consecutive Scottish title came this morning, after the meeting between the 12 clubs of the top division, which also sanctioned the relegation of the Hearts. To establish the final classification, the placement was not used at the time of suspension, on March 13, but the average points of each team compared to the games played, since not all the teams had played the same number of matches. A method of calculation that however did not substantially alternate the ranking, since the Celtic could count on 13 points ahead of the Rangers, second, with only one more game played.
