The crew of a Russian military Mi-8 helicopter was killed by an emergency landing near Moscow.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement today that a Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Russian Space Air Force carried out a severe landing during a training flight 20 km from the city of Klein in the Moscow region, killing the crew members affected by the wounds they sustained.
The ministry added that a committee of the General Command of the Russian Space Forces arrived at the landing site to conduct an investigation into the accident.
The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that preliminary information indicates that the disaster could have been caused by a technical defect, indicating that the helicopter was not equipped with combat equipment.
