It is on an area of the A31 that the customs officers of Dijon checked a "road unit" driven by two drivers of Polish nationality.

And they were not only transporting bazaar items but also 44 boxes containing sachets of cannabis herb and boxes of a painkiller and a sleeping pill, all hidden in the merchandise.

The two drivers were handed over to the Dijon judicial police and the investigation continues under the authority of the specialized interregional jurisdiction of Nancy "in order to identify the sponsors of this drug transport".

Criminal organization

This seizure deprives "a criminal organization of almost 4.5 million euros in illicit profits, its means of transport and what seems to be its rotating freight", reacted the Minister of Action and Public Accounts, Gérald Darmanin, quoted in the press release.

The same day 1.5 tons of cannabis was seized in a Spanish truck near Poitiers, announced for its part the prosecution of Rennes. And on deconfinement Monday, a ton of cannabis herb had been discovered on the highway near Besançon.
