(ANSA) - ROME, JUNE 11 - The Antitrust Authority initiates 4 investigations and 12moral suasion against sixteen between banks and financial companies for "conduct relating to the suspension of mortgages and the disbursement of new loans. The investigations concern Unicredit, IntesaSanPaolo, Banca Sella eFindomestic "for problems that emerged both on the absence of information on the timing to have access to the various support measures dictated in favor of micro-enterprises and consumers".
According to the authority, there were also "clear indications on the charges deriving from the suspension of the reimbursement of the loans granted to companies, in terms of an increase in overall interests compared to the original total due as an effect of the extension of the amortization plans". The banks would have placed "undue conditions on access to such measures, such as the opening of a current account or possessing specific requirements not required by law, or they would have tried to divert applicants towards different and potentially more expensive forms of access to credit than those to the liquidity decree ".
The Authority has also started a moral activity with 12 other banks and financial institutions (BNL, Banco BPM, UBIBanca, Crédit Agricole, Credem, MPS, Banco Popolare di Sondrio, Creval, BCC Pisa, Agos Ducato, Compass and Fiditalia). (HANDLE).
