In the background of the violent riots in the state following the death of George Floyd who was strangled to death by a police officer last Saturday, a black young man named Reichard Brooks was shot near a Wendys branch in Atlanta. A rally was formed and a protest rally began. Security cameras documented the case.

The 27-year-old Brooks was asleep in his car in the parking lot and apparently and according to police, he was drunk. Police who arrived at the scene asked to see if he was in the car. The young man failed to test and respond, police say, took one of them and threatened them with an electric teaser. Then he opened fire on one of the police officers and fatally wounded him.

Brooks' death was determined at the hospital. As a result, the Atlanta mayor said the Atlanta Police Department has submitted its resignation and that it will move to another position. The mayor also called to fire the police officer who shot Brooks and caused his death.

It is expected that many protests are expected following the young man's death, just two weeks after the death of George Floyd, who became a symbol of discrimination and racism. The fear is that the young man's death will again raise the threshold of violence, which seems to have diminished in recent days.
