Lost ball gives an adrenaline rush to French cinema

CRITIQUE - For his first feature film, Guillaume Pierret is making an ambitious action film directed by Alban Lenoir, the rising star of action cinema.

A little mechanical genius, Lino is arrested by the police after a robbery with a somewhat failed ram car. A chance to redeem himself presents itself to him when a special brigade hires him on probation in order to make cars fast enough to neutralize go-fast. Nine months later, when his skills and integrity are no longer to be proven, he is accused of a crime he did not commit. To find himself innocent, he will have to recover the only existing evidence, a bullet stuck in a missing car.

For his first film, produced for Netflix, Guillaume Pierret set the bar very high. The young director was inspired by his two short films, Surrender and Matriarche , to create a nervous and successful work. In this film on the run, the filmmaker went to draw in classics of the genre such as the series The Shield or Jack Reacher. In writing characters like action scenes, Lost Ball oozes good ideas
