An extraordinary West Africa summit will be held on Monday, July 27, the Nigerien head of state and current president of ECOWAS, Mahamadou Issoufou, announced Thursday evening after a day of talks in Bamako who have not resolved the crisis that Mali has been going through since June.

"We have decided to report to all ECOWAS Heads of State within the framework of an extraordinary summit which is convened for Monday" July 27, Mahamadou Issoufou told the press, adding that “strong measures to support Mali” will be taken at this summit, which will take place by videoconference.
