(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JULY 23 - The surge in Covid-19 cases in the United States does not stop the Hollywood car.
The film production and entertainment industry for now seems to have escaped the new restrictions imposed by local governments after the number of contaminated people has multiplied due to hasty reopenings, particularly in California and Georgia where the main production studios are located.
Despite unfavorable conditions (with the exception of the New York stop), California, Georgia and New York do not expect anyone to stop. As for the state of California, although Governor Gavin Newsom ordered a new stop for several indoor activities on July 13, he hasn't anticipated any changes for the entertainment industry, at least for now. Furthermore, according to an official Golden State document, "individuals who support this industry and related activities are considered 'essential' (as long as they respect the safety rules, editor's note)".
In the case of New York, the state has entered phase 4, which allows the resumption of film and TV productions with a maximum of 50 people. No step back even for Georgia where, in recent days, among others, the filming of the dramedy Sistas, written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry, has started. Netflix also plans to return to Georgia in September to shoot Stranger Things, meanwhile the platform is pushing to complete the action thriller RedNotice with Dwayne Johnson. (HANDLE).
