(CNN Spanish) - A silent pandemic threatens the lives of many women around the world. Due to confinement orders, millions of women have been forced to stay at home, with their assailants. Fleeing from one threat, they fall into another.
Due to the pandemic, mistreatment of women, especially domestic violence, has intensified in recent months.
In Latin America there are 14 of the 25 countries with the highest feminicide rates in the world, according to a report by UN Women in 2018.
This is the situation in Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Argentina in the midst of the confinements due to the coronavirus.
