(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 03 - A collapse of over 97% of arrivals and spending: the coronavirus has almost wiped out the tourism sector in Spain in June.
    According to data released today by the National Statistics Institute, reports CNN, 204,926 international tourists arrived in the village in June, 97.7% less than in the same month of the previous year. At the same time, their overall spending decreased by 98.6%. Compared to June 2019, tourist spending has decreased by 40.8% to 651 euros, while the duration of stays in the country has shortened by one day to an average of 5.7 days.
    Including national tourists, the total for the month of June rises to 920,778 for a total of 1,820,455 overnight stays. Both of these figures represent less than 10% of the estimated totals in June last year.
    According to the Statista society, Spain is among the countries in which the impact of the coronavirus on tourism is felt more because this sector contributed 14.3% of the delpil last year. (HANDLE).
