It's time for shooting stars, the magical nights of Lipu are back

Scientific event and good luck, it's time for shooting stars and precisely on the days when the Earth cuts the orbit of an old comet, the Swift-Tuttle, whose fragments form these spectacular light trails, throughout Italy six oases and reserves of the Lipu organize events open to the public to admire them. So, like every year, "Notti delle stelle", the expected national event of Lipu (from tomorrow 8 August to 11 August), returns to observe the shooting stars with expert astronomers in the oases and reserves that the association manages in collaboration with public and private bodies.

    The schedule of events, available on the website www.lipu.it, starts Saturday 8 August, with the Lipu Arcola Oasis (La Spezia) and with the Lago di Santa Luce Nature Reserve (Pisa): in Arcola the observations will be made in collaboration with Andrea Austi of the Astronomical Society Lunae as well as in Santa Luce the evening walk will be carried out in the company of amateur astronomers. The day after, the Nights of the Stars move to the Mantua, at the Paludi di Ostiglia Nature Reserve, where a concert and a release of birds of prey cured at the Parcobaleno recovery center in Mantua are scheduled. Monday 10 will be the turn of the Lipu Bianello Oasis (Reggio Emilia), with packed dinner and observation of the shooting stars and of the Mediterranean habitat center of Lipu in Ostia, where he will be freed of a nocturnal bird of prey managed by the Lipu Wildlife Recovery Center in Rome, and Giuliano De Santis of the Astronomical Association of the Pilgrim will take care of moments of poetry and observations of the sky. Finally in Tuscany from Monday 10 to Tuesday 11 the initiative "The park of the stars", organized in the Chiarone Reserve - Lipu Massaciuccoli Oasis as part of the "Parks of the stars" project with the Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli Regional Park and the collaboration of the Municipality of Massarosa. All events - underlines the association - are limited in number in compliance with the regulations against coronavirus and require mandatory reservations.
