Russia has recorded 4,748 infections and 132 new deaths from the new Corona virus during the past 24 hours, while 6,527 people have recovered from the disease.

The Corona Virus Crisis Management Center in the country said that the total number of HIV infections reached 932,493, which is the fourth largest number of infections in the world, while the total deaths reached 15,872, and 742628 cases recovered.

The Russian capital, Moscow, had the largest share of the number of new infections, reaching 693, and then Saint Petersburg with 157 cases.

In turn, New Zealand announced today that it recorded 13 new confirmed cases of the virus during the past 24 hours, compared to nine the day before, as the country is struggling to contain the outbreak in Auckland, its largest city, where about a third of the country's population lives.

Ashley Bloomfield, director-general of health, said 12 of the new infections were linked to the epicenter of the outbreak in Auckland.

New Zealand has so far recorded just under 1,300 confirmed infections and 22 deaths.
