FC Bayern 2 has settled the successor to Sebastian Hoeneß, who moved to Hoffenheim, in the U23. An old friend celebrates his coaching comeback.
FC Bayern Munich has a coach for the U23 again. Holger Seitz is returning to the 2nd team's bench after a one-year break. The 45-year-old was the predecessor of Sebastian Hoeneß, who moved to 1899 Hoffenheim after the championship in the 3rd division.
"We are grateful to Holger Seitz that he is now continuing his coaching work, afterwards he will take over the sporting management on our campus," announced sports director Hasan Salihamidzic in the club's press release.
The new and old coach did not have to be convinced for long. "When Hasan and Jochen (Sauer, editor's note) came up to me with the request to take over the U23 team, I wasn't entirely unprepared," says Seitz. "From the point of view of the club management and the campus management, it is important that the U23 confirm the 3rd division as a competition class."
