A Palestinian prisoner was martyred this evening in the Israeli jails as a result of medical negligence and systematic killing adopted by the occupation authorities against the prisoners in their detention centers.

The Wafa news agency quoted the prisoner club as saying that the prisoner, Dawood Talaat Al-Khatib, 45, suffered a heart attack that led to his death as a result of the occupation authorities' deliberate procrastination in saving his life, adding that the occupation authorities ordered the arrest of the prisoner in 2002 and imprisoned him for 18 years, as he suffered a heart attack in his detention in 2017 and underwent a heart operation. Open and died just four months before his prison sentence expired.

With the martyrdom of the captive al-Khatib, the number of captured martyrs has risen to 225 since 1967, while about five thousand Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation detention camps face harsh conditions of detention, and 1,800 prisoners of them suffer multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics and germs, among them about 700 prisoners needing urgent treatment, especially cases of cancer and failure Renal and paraplegic.
