"As I have clarified to the Supreme Court in the said position I have submitted, his tenure as Prime Minister in a criminal trial is possible under a very clear limitation of a conflict of interest arrangement, preventing him from any possibility of influencing his personal criminal affairs by exercising his governmental powers," the spokesman said.

"Such a conflict of interest arrangement will ensure the complete separation between Mr. Netanyahu's term as prime minister and the powers conferred on him in this framework, and his personal handling of the criminal proceedings in his case. This was also clearly stated in the Supreme Court president's ruling."

In addition, the Judiciary condemned the attacks on the attorney general in charge of the prime minister's files, Adv. Liat Ben-Ari.

"Strongly rejects the malicious attempts to threaten or damage the good name of those involved in the indictment filed in this proceeding.

"We will not come to terms with such phenomena. In the meantime, if anyone imagines that the same lawyer or any other lawyer will be affected in his professional work in any way, by the same personal attacks, then I would like to announce here that he is wrong."
