Michael Martin, born in 1963, has been traveling the world as a photographer and geographer for 40 years and publishes his pictures and stories in lectures, books and films.

He has been reporting in blogs for SPIEGEL since 2010.

Norway and Corona

Norway - and thus Svalbard - is less affected by Covid-19.

However, the country classified Germany as a risk area at the end of August (here is a list) and stipulates a ten-day quarantine for travelers from Germany.

The Federal Foreign Office therefore advises against unnecessary tourist trips to Norway.
