(ANSA) - LONDON, OCTOBER 01 - The British government claims its "reasons" behind the national draft law (InternalMarket Bill) that calls into question part of the divorce agreements signed with the EU in response to the letter with which the European Commission confirmed the intention to bring legal action against London if the matter is not clarified within a month. "We will respond to the letter in due course", a spokesman for Boris Johnson said shortly, but "we have clearly indicated our reasons for introducing (through the disputed law, already approved by the House of Commons and now under discussion in that of Lords, ed.) to the Protocol on Northern Ireland ". It is a question, he insisted, of "creating a legal safety net to protect the UK's internal market" and at the same time "protecting the Irish peace process". (HANDLE).
