During her interrogation, the woman from Berlin described the bar with which her husband had injured her: "Not round, but square and the sides / corners are slightly rounded. It was very heavy," said the police report.

The bar was part of a discarded wardrobe.

Why did her husband hit her?

Because he was annoyed with her when he was intoxicated with drugs.

According to her, a large hematoma formed on her leg and she had been in pain for several days.

There have been many incidents of this kind.

The woman also said that she had been raped by her husband.

"He would then arrest me and push me and then he did what he wanted to do. And as soon as he finished, he cursed me ... That happened not just once, but several times."

In her desperation, she sought help from her mother-in-law.

She said that she had to be available to her husband at all times, even if she was sick or in pain - that is what Islam wanted.

"I felt like an animal," she says.

"I was nothing. I had no power."
