The website of US President Donald Trump's election campaign has apparently been hacked briefly.

On Tuesday evening, when you clicked on the "Events" category, the statement appeared: "This site has been confiscated. The world has had enough of the fake news that President Donald J. Trump spreads every day."

This was followed by unsubstantiated allegations against the American government and against Donald Trump himself.

At the top of the page were the logos of the American Federal Police, the FBI, and the US Department of Justice.

The alleged hackers demanded the deposit of cryptocurrency for compromising information about Trump, which also made the incident look like an attempted fraud.

After a few minutes, however, the statements and allegations disappeared again and the site was working normally again.

The background was initially unclear.

Trump's election campaign team confirmed the hack in the evening.

It was working with law enforcement agencies to find the perpetrators, a statement said.

Sensitive data was not in danger because it was "not stored on the site".

According to the Reuters news agency, the FBI initially did not want to comment on the incident.
