The new submersible called "Fendouzhe" or "Luchador" set a new national record by sinking 10,909 meters in the Mariana Trench, the state news agency Xinhua said.
This area is the deepest of the Earth's oceans.
And the dive surpassed China's previous record in the same area by more than 800 meters.
