In Krefeld, the police pulled a cyclist with a 40 kilogram kebab skewer in his luggage.
During a check it was found that both the bike and the meat skewer were stolen, the police said.
The 34-year-old who was already known to the police for theft was provisionally arrested.
On Saturday morning, police officers noticed a cyclist in the center of town, who was apparently carrying a very heavy object in a bag that was slung over his shoulder.
When checking the 34-year-old, he could not credibly explain how he came into possession of the kebab skewer.
The man was also unable to justify why he was traveling with a bicycle that was advertised for a search.
The stolen property was confiscated.
