In the past seven days, an average of 265,000 new infections have been recorded in the area, a decrease of 9% compared to the previous week.

The 52 countries of the Old Continent remain the most affected area in the world, ahead of Latin America and the Caribbean (12.1 million cases) and Asia (11.5 million).

In total, over 55 million people in the world have been infected by Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
