(ANSA) - BEIJING, 01 DEC - North Korean leader KimJong-un allegedly had an anti-Covid vaccine developed by China together with his family and top officials administered. Harry Kazianias, an American security expert, states this in an article published in the online magazine 19FortyFive. "North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and many other top officials within the Kim family and the leadership network have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in the past two to three weeks thanks to one of the vaccine candidates provided by the Chinese government," he wrote Kazianis, seniordirector at the Korean Studies of the Center for the NationalInterest, a Washington-based think tank. The US expert anonymously quoted two Japanese sources of intelligence and, without indicating which of the Chinese vaccine candidates was administered to the supreme leader, recalled that at present there are 3 or 4 products close to the finish line, with one already injected at almost a million people. However, doubts remain about the effectiveness and safety "of these vaccines, since no data on phase 3 has been published so far on Chinese vaccines". North Korea has not yet formalized any coronavirus infection in the country, while only "more than 800 suspected cases" were cited in a recent WHO report. (HANDLE).
