The singer's discography is unique in that the man hardly left any unreleased material in the studio, for a simple reason, he never recorded more songs than was necessary to end up with a record.

Unlike his heroes Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, who regularly unveil never-before-heard pieces, we are not about to discover nuggets left aside when making an album.

The reason is simple: performer only - with rare exceptions -, Hallyday has never recorded more songs than necessary to result in a disc.

If a composition or a text did not suit him, Johnny did not record it in the studio.
