Just reopened and closed again: This is what happened to the Lechbruck library due to the Corona-related forced closure.

- A five-person volunteer team had set up and expanded the former school library in Lechbruck in advance with the support of the Sankt Michaelsbund.
Background: The former library in the town hall was no longer up to date, so a year and a half ago the decision was made to give up the library in the town hall and to merge it with the school library.
The book room in the town hall was therefore converted by the former mayor Helmut Angl as a lounge for the employees of the municipal administration.
And as you can hear, people like to use it.
In return, a small room in the school was made into three rooms.
Lovingly designed and equipped with an extensive range, the new library was opened to the general public around three weeks ago.
Up until now, primary school students were allowed to borrow books every Tuesday morning.
It is important to the rector Agatha Müller to introduce the children to books and reading.
“It is an asset to our school family to have the library in the school,” she said.
And further: "Reading is very important, especially in the first years of elementary school."
Lechbruck's mayor Werner Moll is also full of praise: “As a municipality, we have the task of providing our citizens - and especially our children - with a cultural education.
And I am delighted that there are women in our village who have taken on this important task on a voluntary basis. "
A big opening ceremony had to be avoided, but Birgit Lauter, Christa Scherl and Cindy Sitter are certain: "Postponing is not canceled."
The three women had taken on the first shift and were happy about the large number of visitors on the opening day.
“It's just a shame that we can't invite the people who have supported us with so much over the past few months.
Everybody who has supported us, we say: Thank you very much! ”Said the trio.
