The people of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor went out today to protest against the practices of the "Qasd militia" supported by the American occupation forces and to condemn their theft of oil resources in the Syrian island.

Local sources told SANA's correspondent that the people of the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor staged a protest demonstration at the Al-Qahwi Junction in the town of Abu Hamam against the “Qasd militia,” its repressive practices and its control over the region’s resources and wealth, which is the right of citizens, in addition to the increasing extortion operations practiced by the militia’s militants.

The demonstrators who blocked the main roads in the region, amid a general strike and the closure of commercial stores, demanded an end to their practices and their confiscation of the livelihood and property of the people and the theft and smuggling of oil.

A number of areas in Deir Ezzor and Hasaka countryside are witnessing demonstrations by the people in protest against the crimes of the “Qasd” militants, which caused the death and injury of dozens of them in addition to the kidnappings of many villagers in Deir Ezzor countryside and the dependence of this militia completely to the orders of the American occupation forces.
