After three wins in as many matches in the first round of Euro 2020, the French handball players started the main round with a small victory over Spain (26-25), Thursday night in Herning (Denmark).
At the break, the players of Olivier Krumbholz had made the break (16-10) but they let the Spaniards return to the game after returning from the locker room.
