The educational theatrical show “Excuse me, my father,” presented as part of the 16th Campaign to Combat Violence Against Women in Qamishli, dealt with social customs and traditions that violate women.

The show held by the Al-Ber Society and Social Services in Qamishli with the participation of a number of volunteers, Hiyam Al-Hadidi, a member of the society’s board of directors, spoke about it in a statement to SANA's correspondence that it is part of the association’s awareness activities that affect society and concern the family.

The writer of the work, Abdul-Jaber Hamid, explained that this text was written because of his belief in the positive role of women in society and the necessity to reject all forms of violence that target their being, considering that outdated habits create many health and societal problems and oppress women.

For her part, the project manager of the 16-day campaign against violence against women, Fadwa Al-Luji, stated that the aim of the campaign is to educate a wide range of women and girls by presenting a meaningful theatrical performance and allowing the attendees to express their opinion on the significance of the work.

It is noteworthy that the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women was launched in the Al-Ber Charity Association, in the presence of a number of participating women who followed the training and professional courses provided within the safe space in the Malath Center by launching orange balloons symbolizing equality between men and women and removing social customs and traditions that oppress them.
